Creating Your Blogs About Us and Contact Us Pages

Hopefully by now you’ve begun writing that first blog post. Don’t worry if it’s not finished, just keep writing. Don’t put to much thought into it. If you DID finish your first post, use #hastag #celebrate and tell us all about it in the group! Once you do get that first post out of the way, it’s time to start building your blogs foundation and let your future visitors know what your site is about, and how to reach you should they want to do business with your blog.

Your assignment for today is to write the following to pages:

  • About Us
  • Contact Us

Creating Your About Us Page

The About Us page should be about you, your experience, why the reader should trust you. It should detail what you intend to blog about, and why you’re the best choice for information on that. Tell your future readers why they should subscribe to your mailing list. Explain to them how they benefit from subscribing to your posts. If you’re not sure why, do some brainstorming in the group. Explain who you are, what you’re blogging about, and what you want to share with your readers.

What not to do: Don’t get stuck. It’s not a big deal. Get it down, and edit it everyday until you love it if needbe. Or write your about us page, and edit it weekly. There’s no right or wrong, just write what comes to mind, and work on polishing it later.

Writing Your Blogs Contact Us Page

Your Blogs Contact Us page should tell your readers how to reach you, whether it’s by sending an email through a contact form in your Constant Contact account, or by mailing you a letter, or visiting your blogs Facebook page.  What you don’t want to do is publish your actual email address on this page. You will be inundated with spam. It’s great if you want your visitors to be able to email you, just be sure to use a contact form.
